What to Expect
Several of us at the clinic are parents ourselves and we understand that appointments can be intimidating for kids, especially when they’re not feeling well. We strive to make physiotherapy fun by incorporating games and toys where appropriate.
After entering the clinic for your assessment, you can expect to check in with our front desk and fill out an intake form. Cheryl will then come and bring you back to either a private assessment room or our larger physiotherapy gym/treatment room, depending on your needs and the age of your child. Your assessment will last one hour and will involve a variety of movements, stretches, and tasks for your child to complete in order to assess their physical abilities and determine what changes their symptoms. Cheryl will then create a plan for you and your child to address the the issue that brought you and your child into the clinic. She will also recommend a follow-up schedule to assess on-going progress and make adjustments where necessary. At the end of the appointment, your child can choose a sticker or a fidget toy to take home.
